Having been in the home-improvement business all my working life I soon realized that the shift has not moved from practical and beautiful improvements to our houses only but also to something that saves us money but are also beautiful and not unsightly to the eye!
This is when, in my opinion, people started buying more high-quality goods. Paving changed to bricks made specifically for paving. Not just an old concrete driveway. Indoor painting changed to wall tiles in the kitchen and bathroom, and some other areas, instead of oil-based paints that we used to use. Ugly fencing had to make space for palisade and brick walling……etc.
Now, yes 15 years ago, we started to notice that electricity became very expensive!! So, calculations were done and it was found that your electrical geyser is probably the most expensive electrical consumer in your house. And the solar geyser alternative was beginning to become a very popular item for all households.
